Sheut Stone is the Hellish version of Marble, Marble converts to Sheut Stone on Hell Terrain. The units built in a city with access to Sheut Stone will gain the Sheut Stones promotion, which adds +1 death damage, +25% Death resistance and a -10% weakness to holy damage.

Sheut Stones are very strong. Sheut Stones act similarly to another metal resource/weapon upgrade, giving all units the promotion, in every City that have access to the resources. Note that ALL units gets the promotion, even units that don't typically get weapon promotions (like Adepts). A unit can have Sheut Stones and a regular weapon promotion at the same time, which can make for very powerful basic units (such as base strength 11 champions!).

Civilopedia Entry[]

Only Agares knows the origin of these stones. They may be a pale reflection of the gems of creation or Agares' failed attempts to make his own. Regardless, they radiate powerful death magic and draw Wraiths to them like silent beacons. During the Age of Magic necromancers were said to have turned the stones into powerful weapons for those that wielded them.

Trivia[]

Sheut is an ancient Egyptian word for a person's shadow, and one of the five parts of the soul within their mythology. Kael pronounces it "soo-it" (where soo is pronounced like the girl's name Sue). It was believed that a person could not exist without a shadow, nor a shadow without a person, therefore ancient Egyptians surmised that a shadow contained something of the person it represented. For this reason statues of people and deities were sometimes referred to as their shadows, or Sheut. The shadow was represented graphically as a small human figure painted completely black, as a figure of death, or as a servant of Anubis.
